The thickness of the line is carefully determined by the natural density of your lashes, ensuring the enhancement complements your unique eye shape. Our Process

Bloom Beauty Studio Eyeliner tattoo process

1 Consultation

During our chat, I’ll help you choose the perfect eyeliner style, shape, and colour. We’ll sketch it out so you can visualize your stunning new look. My utmost priority is ensuring you understand the procedure and are comfortable with what’s to come.

2 Design

I carefully sketch the design that will be tattooed, ensuring it complements your unique facial features. You are involved in every step of the process, and I don’t start the pigmentation until you are completely satisfied with the design we’ve crafted together.

3 Numbing

I apply a gentle topical anesthetic to your eyelid area, which will minimize discomfort.

4 Pigmentation

During this phase, I carefully implant each pixel of pigment with precise attention to detail, using specialized equipment for eyeliner. This method ensures each dot is placed for crisp, precise results that enhance your natural eye shape. The process is thorough yet gentle, aiming for immediate beauty and lasting quality, aligned with the design we've meticulously planned together.

5 Aftercare

Once the procedure is complete, I’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure your new eyeliner heals flawlessly. From keeping the area dry to avoiding makeup for a few days and steering clear of strenuous activities, I have expert tips to ensure your eyeliner heals beautifully and lasts longer.

Care Instructions

To ensure a smooth procedure and optimal healed results,
please follow these guidelines.

Pre-care

  • Avoid UV exposure on your face for 2 weeks before your appointment. Sunburned skin may require rescheduling.

  • Discontinue using lash serums at least 3 months before your eyeliner appointment.

  • These must be removed at least 72 hours before your appointment.

  • Remove contact lenses before the procedure and bring glasses if necessary.

  • Avoid any treatments on or around the eye area, such as facials and chemical peels, within 2 weeks of your appointment.

  • 24 Hours Before Your Appointment:

    • Medications and Supplements: Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin E, and other blood thinners.

    • Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol.

    • Caffeine: Limit intake. A small cup of coffee three hours before your appointment is permissible.

After-care

    • Cleaning: To aid the healing process, keep the area clean by gently washing the treated area with a damp cotton pad with water for 10 days. This helps maintain hygiene without disrupting the healing.

    • Moisturizing: If you experience minor flaking or dryness during the healing phase, you can apply a small amount of the provided ointment to the treated area. Use only a tiny amount to moisturize the area lightly without overwhelming it.

    • Water Exposure: Avoid direct water spray on the treated area. Use a damp cloth to clean the area carefully.

    • Sweating and Steam: Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating and stay out of steam rooms and saunas for the first 10 days.

    • Scab Care: Do not pick at scabs or tug at your eyeliner; allow them to fall off naturally.

    • Makeup: Avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 10 days to prevent the risk of infection.

    • Tenderness: It’s normal for your lash line to feel tender for the first couple of days after the procedure. Mild discomfort is typical and should not be cause for concern unless accompanied by signs of infection.

    • Swelling: Swelling is common, especially the morning after your procedure. If swelling persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms like increased pain or discharge, seek medical attention promptly.

    • Initial Appearance: Your eyeliner will appear darker immediately after the procedure.

    • Lightening Phase: Expect the colour to lighten by up to 30% as it heals.

    • Colour Stabilization: The final colour and shape will settle by the 4th or 5th week, often appearing softer and more natural.

  • Assessment and Scheduling: Evaluate the need for touch-ups after the healing phase, which are typically scheduled 6 to 8 weeks post-procedure.

    • Patience and Care: Be patient and follow all aftercare instructions to support the best possible healing.

    • Protection: Protect your eyeliners from excessive sunlight and avoid harsh facial treatments during the healing period.

Eyeliner FAQs

If you need further customization or additional information, book your free consultation today.

  • It typically lasts between 1 to 3 years. Longevity varies based on skin type, lifestyle, metabolism, and adherence to aftercare instructions. Touch-ups are recommended to maintain the vibrancy and definition.

  • Thanks to the use of topical anesthetics, most clients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. The sensation is often described as slightly tickling or tingling, making it quite manageable.

  • You can choose from various styles, from subtle lash enhancements that darken the lash line to bold, winged eyeliner that makes a dramatic statement. During your consultation, I’ll help you select a style that best complements your eye shape and meets your aesthetic preferences.

  • To ensure the best possible results and a smoother procedure, follow these comprehensive preparation steps before your permanent eyeliner appointment:

    • Avoid Certain Substances: Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment, as these can increase sensitivity and bleeding. It's also important to avoid blood-thinning medications during this period; consult your doctor to ensure it’s safe to do so.

    • Lash Care: Discontinue using lash growth serums at least two weeks before your appointment, as these can affect how your skin reacts to the procedure. Please remove any eyelash extensions at least a few days before your session to ensure a clean and accessible lash line.

    • Eye Contacts: If you wear contact lenses, remove them before the procedure and bring your glasses to wear instead. Avoid wearing contact lenses for at least 24 hours after the procedure to prevent irritation during the initial healing phase.

    • Clean, Makeup-Free Eyes: Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes. The eyelid and surrounding area must be free of cosmetics, creams, or oils to facilitate the best ink absorption and minimize the risk of infection.

  • The entire procedure, including the initial consultation, design, and application, typically takes 2-3 hours. This allows ample time to ensure that you are comfortable with the design and that the application meets our high standards for quality and precision.

    • Keep Clean: Gently clean the area within the first 24 hours to prevent lymph buildup. Use a damp cotton pad and pat carefully.

    • Avoid Sweat and Steam: Skip workouts and avoid steamy environments to keep the fresh eyeliner dry and intact.

    • Apply Ointment: Use a recommended healing ointment sparingly to moisturize the area; apply with a sterile cotton swab.

    • No Makeup: Avoid applying makeup near the eyeliner until it is fully healed, typically taking about one week.

  • Yes, you can get permanent eyeliner if you wear contact lenses. However, you should remove your lenses before the procedure and avoid wearing them for a few days afterward to allow your eyes to heal properly.

  • Yes, you can, but waiting until your eyes have fully healed and stabilized before undergoing the procedure is crucial. Typically, I recommend waiting at least six months post-surgery to ensure your eye health is at its best and prevent any interference with the healing process.

  • If you have glaucoma, permanent eyeliner is generally not recommended. The procedure involves applying pressure around the eyes, which could affect intraocular pressure and exacerbate the condition. Prioritizing eye health and consulting with your ophthalmologist or healthcare provider before considering any cosmetic procedures around the eyes is crucial.

  • The recovery time for permanent eyeliner is generally quick, with no downtime required. You can expect some swelling and redness around the eyes immediately after the procedure, which is normal and should subside within 24/48 hours. However, it is advisable to avoid strenuous activities and direct sun exposure for a couple of days to facilitate healing. This allows the eyeliner to set appropriately and reduces the risk of complications.

  • After receiving your eyeliner tattoo, it's essential to understand the healing process and what you can do to ensure the best results:

    • Immediate Aftercare: The treated area may initially appear red, and swelling might occur. This is a normal reaction. Swelling can begin right after the procedure or might become more noticeable on the second day. To alleviate swelling, you can gently apply an ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth to the area or take an antihistamine as recommended by your healthcare provider.

    • Healing Process: Unlike other tattoo procedures, an eyeliner tattoo will not cause visible scabbing. However, it's crucial to keep the area clean and avoid rubbing or touching your eyes. Use a fresh cotton swab to gently apply any prescribed or recommended ointments.

    • Colour Changes: Right after the procedure, the eyeliner will appear significantly darker and thicker than it will once healed. Don’t be alarmed by this; it is part of the normal healing process. Over the next two weeks, the colour will gradually lighten to its permanent shade.

    • Follow-Up and Touch-Ups: A follow-up appointment is usually scheduled about 6 - 8 weeks after your initial session. During this visit, another layer of pigment can be added to darken the eyeliner, fill in gaps, or adjust the thickness according to your preferences. This session ensures your eyeliner looks perfect and compensates for any unevenness or colour lightening that can occur as the area heals.

    • Long-Term Care: To maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your eyeliner tattoo, wear sunglasses outdoors to protect your eyes from excessive sun exposure.

Understanding these aspects of the healing process will help you manage your expectations and care for your new eyeliner tattoo effectively, ensuring you enjoy your enhanced look for as long as possible.
